Wake Up Dreamer!

This is all the more urgent, for you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.  Romans 13:11

Have you ever had a big dream for your life? Maybe you started out strong but obstacles kept pushing you back and you just haven’t been able to reach that dream.

The dreams we have in life are God given dreams. He created us to dream and to set goals and to move forward. It’s easier to do those things in the beginning of the dream, we’re excited, eager and enthusiastic, but we soon lose those feelings when the way gets hard.

For a dream comes with much business and painful effort…

Ecclesiastes 5:3a

This is where many people give up on their dream. It’s hard, uncomfortable, and inconvenient but it’s so worth it to push through. If God has given you a dream, don’t give up on it, time is ticking away. God put the dream in us and now He wants us to wake up and bring it to pass. So how do we accomplish that?

  1. Put Your Expectation In God

There will be times that we need to wait on God but that shouldn’t make us give up. Keep expecting and keep talking to God. Just because we’re waiting in the natural world doesn't mean we’re not working in the Spiritual world. Don’t let the enemy steal your trust in God and His plan and dream for you.

  1. Keep A Good Attitude

Don’t let the enemy lure you into complaining and murmuring, keeping you in a cycle of defeat. Many of the Israelites didn’t get the rest and provision God had for them in the Promised Land because they couldn’t keep their attitude right. (Do you reward your children when they have a bad attitude?) We can choose to have a good attitude. And if you have a good attitude, God will give you favor with people and in your circumstances. We can't always choose our circumstances but we can choose how we react to them.

  1. Love The Dream Maker More Than The Dream

Don’t focus on the dream so much that you forget about The One who gave you the dream and can make it come to pass. We may add details or stipulations to the dream that God didn’t have in mind. We may want to take the dream into a different direction or move on a different time table and forget where the origin of the dream came from.

This plan of mine is not what you would work out, neither are my thoughts the same as yours!  For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than yours, and my thoughts than yours. Isaiah 55:8-9

If you have been asleep and your dream is still just a dream, God is saying “Wake up!”

“Awake, O sleeper, and rise up from the dead; and Christ shall give you light.” Ephesians 5:14

It’s time to dream with God again! God wants to do amazing things in you and through you! His dreams are bigger than yours! Working out our dreams isn’t easy but the reward on the other side is so worth it!
