I Need A Breakthrough! Pt 1

"The breaker goes up before them; They break out, pass through the gate, and go out by it. So their king goes on before them, And the LORD at their head."

Micah 2:13

What exactly is a breakthrough? A definition for breakthrough is a movement or advance all the way through and beyond an enemy's front-line of defense.

The enemy (satan) puts up barriers in our lives to keep us from receiving all that God has for us. He sets up strongholds, habits, thought patterns, and temptations to keep us from living the abundant life Jesus came to give us. We need to realize that there is a war going on around us. God has provided everything for us that we need but there is a bully standing in the way of our getting it. When we move in to take hold of God and all He promises us, we can expect opposition from the enemy.

How do we move forward to breakthrough?

The first step to breakthrough in our lives is acknowledging that God is the answer to what's best for our lives. God has written His plans out for us even before we were born. (Jeremiah 29:11)

He says that His plans for us is to give us Hope, and a future of comfort, security, and well being. Believing that Jesus gave His life to save us from the penalty of sin and asking Him to take charge of our lives is our first step toward our breakthrough.

We often want God to send a breakthrough directly to situation and bring an instant change to our behavior or determination, or thought process. We often look for this to happen at church listening to a sermon or through our worship experience, and when it doesn't happen we feel deserted or left wondering what's missing. Sometimes the last place we look is the very physical, very present Word of God. I bet if you sat down with a Bible, you would be able to get the very answers you seek. The difficulty most people have is that usually the answer is not on the first page they look at. Well thank God that Google is available to help us find exactly where in God's Word is the answer to the questions we have!

If you are plugged into a local church, then you should have relationships that you recognize are God given in your life that walk with you, protect you, pray for you, and help you fight. If you are not plugged into a church pray about finding one.

We have promises to bring into our lives and it takes an army of believers to breakthrough the enemy's barriers!
