I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.
Psalm 139:14
O Holy Night has always been my favorite Christmas carols because of one line, "till He appeared and the soul felt it's worth." For so many years the enemy robbed me of feeling my true worth. I didn't realize that my worth didn't come from the social status of my family, my own attempt at popularity, my beauty, or my intelligence or anything else the world put in front of me to compare myself to. Until He appeared to me I could not feel my worth.
Now I'm not saying as soon as I came to know Jesus I was transformed immediately into a new frame of mind concerning my worth, it was still a struggle like many other things. Meditating on God's Word not only transforms your mind but your heart. We can know a lot of things and have a lot of head knowledge about things without truly receiving them. We can be hearers of the Word and not doers and we have accomplished nothing. James 1:22
God's Word is true. Believe it, receive it, speak it and He will allow you to feel it.
We all have times of insecurity and feeling inadequate but our worth is not measured there. Our worth is in God. Jesus paid our ransom, He paid for us with His life to be free from our enemy because we are worth that to Him. Our worth doesn't come from what we do, what we have, what we accomplish, or what we look like. Our worth comes from the cross of Jesus. Let's stive to live a life worthy of His. When our soul feels it's worth we realize we have a purpose. He has chosen us to build His kingdom, to share the Good news of Jesus our Savior, to heal the sick, to raise the dead, to cast out demons, and bring heaven to earth. Mark 16
Everyone is beautiful and worthy, made in the very image of God. Tell someone today who doesn't know it yet!
