Why are you downcast, o my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God.
Psalm 43:5
I really don't hate the autumn season, It's beautiful with all the colorful leaves against the backdrop of rolling hills. My birthday is in October, which as I get older doesn't help me love the season as much as I used to. I dread the fall season as it approaches, not because it means I'm getting older but because it means winter is coming. Many people suffer from winter depression caused by a lack of sunlight and decreased physical activity. Fall melancholy deepens to winter depression. Depression can strike at any time and any person, and too often it robs God's people of His Great Joy and affects their quality of life.
John 10:10 says The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Depression not only robs the depressed person but the ones that love them.
Ecclesiastes 9:4 – says Anyone who is among the living has hope.
God always provides a way out! Sometimes we may have people to pray with us and pray for us but sometimes we might just have to command our own souls to line up with the word of God!
Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not all His benefits! Psalm 103:2
The answer is to get God's hope back inside of us and the way to do that is through prayer and reading God's word. I know it's very hard when we are at our weakest but trust that His word is true and it says
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you."
James 4:8
