If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?
Romans 8:32
Do we really realize how limited we are when left to our own resources? We have an idea of something so we try to build it and we pull out our tiny little tool box and tinker around trying to make it work. We spend precious amounts of time thinking and figuring and gathering trying to make something from nothing. We even have the presumption that the idea of what we are trying to build came from us! We are like "The Beverly Hillbillies" living in poverty when our backyard is soaked in black gold! We have to believe that God has not given us any idea, vision, or ministry that he is not willing to supply ALL that is needed. I am laying down my little eyeglass repair kit and asking God to supply all the resources for my every need. I know that everything is not going to fall into my lap without any effort of my own. I know that the effort required of me might be painful, stressful, and exhausting at times but that just serves to remind me of God's resources of peace, rest, and refreshing.
“Before she went into labor, she had the baby. Before the birth pangs hit, she delivered a son. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Has anyone seen anything like this? A country born in a day? A nation born in a flash?
