He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created.
Genesis 5:2
God Bless you! How many times have we said that to someone? Usually after a sneeze! It's a short way of saying "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace" (Numbers 6:24–26). Or at least it should be. Words have power and with our tongues we can bless or curse, but neither should be done casually. The believer truly understands what it means to be blessed by God, and so out of our Blessing we should seek to Bless others. The enemy would like you to believe that it's wrong to ask God for Blessings, after all shouldn't you be praying for the sick, the starving, the unsaved, the less fortunate? How selfish to be asking for Blessings for yourself! We are called to build God's kingdom here on earth and we do that with the resources He provides for us. We give out to others from the resources we have been given from God. Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." Acts 3:6
Seek God's kingdom first, pray with right motives, pray according to God's will, don't let a love for the world's values replace your love for God, and remember to pray for the needs of others. Let our ministry to Lord be effective and a true Blessing to others!
